I figured the hotels in LV and Atlantic City that have casinos
had something in place. However, I am not sure that is the case for non-casino hotels or hotels in other states. If it can happen at an outdoor gathering in LV, then it could happen anywhere in the US.
For the hotels that do currently use the technology, I wouldn't think it would be the same technology used at airports. At least I wouldn't think scanning a section or an entire room at once would be highly effective. If they use visual recognition software, then I wouldn't think that would be highly effective unless the weapon is exposed or an easily recognizable bulge under the person's clothes.
